Beach Baby

I’m a self proclaimed Beach Baby. An absolute sucker for the ocean.

Although deep water gives me anxiety, (sharks go away please) I love everything else about it.

It’s my happy place. My little getaway I can retreat to when I’m sad, happy or anything in between.

With my eyes on the water, I watch how it dances before it crashes. It’s enchanting to me. everything else in the world doesn’t seem to matter in this moment in time. I’m at peace.

Although after some research I found there were 57 shark bites worldwide in 2020, with 12 fatal bites.
Here’s the kicker, 8 of which were in Australia.
Someone do the math, I know it’s in our favour but I’m STILL uncomfortable.

The greatest beach I’ve been too hands down. It’s name translates to Port of Goats. As the goats were able to access the area better than us humans due to their abilities to scale the cliffs. If I could shape shift into a goat I would.

The water here is a gorgeous baby blue, it feels like you’re bathing in the water of gods (I had to get some Greek Mythology references in here). And little soft white pebbles line the shore that kiss the soles of your feet.

This beach can be found on the island Kefalonia situated on the west side of Greece.
Tiny white pebbles made up the beach which is common around the Mediterranean. Porto Katsiki had the same pebbles but also had sand towards the cliff.

The journey is what made finding this beach amazing. After being told of this secret beach from people at my hostel, we were given a hand drawn map. We had to climb over a mountain, through shrubbery and goat tracks for over an hour to get here. But for the sunset view it was worth every stressed out second.

4. Agios Gordios - Corfu, Greece (Taken by yours truly)
I took the first photo as I made my way back down the hill after I bought a few cans for the sunset.
The second two are from the rooftop at the Pink Palace where I was staying. (I wouldn’t recommend the place, that toga night is a long story).

The beach itself doesn’t compete to the others before it. But it just felt magical being there. Also a great spot to rent a canoe.
